Frequently Asked Questions
What water parameters do Discus fish need?
Discus thrive in soft, warm, slightly acidic water: temperature 28–30°C, pH 6.0–7.0, very low hardness (GH < 8, KH < 4). We set up reverse osmosis (RO) water or appropriate tap water conditioning to achieve these parameters from day one. Learn more about water parameters →
Can I keep Discus with other fish?
Yes, with careful selection. Good tankmates include cardinal tetras, rummy-nose tetras, corydoras and some small plecostomus species. Avoid aggressive or fin-nipping fish. We plan compatible stocking during your consultation.
Are live plants compatible with Discus temperature requirements?
Many plants tolerate the warm temperatures Discus need. We select heat-tolerant species such as Amazon swords, Vallisneria, Cryptocoryne and certain stem plants. We avoid more sensitive species that prefer cooler water.
What happens if my Discus become unwell?
All our setups are backed by ongoing support, and our maintenance packages include health monitoring. Premium plan clients receive priority call-out for any health emergencies.
