Fish AD Aquatics
can supply.

AD Aquatics supplies healthy, quarantined freshwater fish as part of every installation and restock we carry out across the UK. Adnan and Hasan hand-select each species from trusted UK freshwater wholesalers, matching stock to your tank's water chemistry before it ever reaches your home. Everything below is freshwater only — AD Aquatics does not currently supply marine or saltwater species.

Community & Livebearers

Peaceful, hardy species that form the backbone of almost every community tank we install.

Cardinal Tetra

Paracheirodon axelrodi

Native to the Amazon and Rio Negro basins, cardinal tetras shoal in groups of 8 or more and thrive in soft, slightly acidic water (pH 6.0–7.0) alongside other peaceful community fish.

Neon Tetra (Paracheirodon innesi) — freshwater fish supplied by AD Aquatics

Neon Tetra

Paracheirodon innesi

A classic community staple from the upper Amazon, neon tetras are hardy, peaceful, and best kept in shoals of 6 or more in a planted tank.

Harlequin Rasbora (Trigonostigma heteromorpha) — freshwater fish supplied by AD Aquatics

Originating from Southeast Asian streams, this schooling fish adds movement and colour to a peaceful community tank without disturbing tankmates.

Zebra Danio (Danio rerio) — freshwater fish supplied by AD Aquatics

Zebra Danio

African Cichlids

Lake Malawi species that pair naturally with the UK’s hard, alkaline tap water — a specialism led by Adnan.

Yellow Lab (Labidochromis caeruleus) — freshwater fish supplied by AD Aquatics

Yellow Lab

Labidochromis caeruleus

One of the most peaceful Lake Malawi mbuna, yellow labs suit mixed-species African cichlid tanks and thrive in hard, alkaline water (pH 7.8–8.6).

Electric Blue Peacock (Aulonocara hansbaenschi) — freshwater fish supplied by AD Aquatics

Electric Blue Peacock

Aulonocara hansbaenschi

A Lake Malawi peacock cichlid prized for the vivid blue colouration mature males develop; peacocks are generally less aggressive than mbuna.

Red Zebra (Maylandia estherae) — freshwater fish supplied by AD Aquatics

Red Zebra

Maylandia estherae

A colour-variable Lake Malawi mbuna that does best in a heavily rock-aquascaped tank, giving each fish enough territory to reduce aggression.

Angelfish (Pterophyllum scalare) — freshwater fish supplied by AD Aquatics

Angelfish

Discus (Symphysodon spp.) — freshwater fish supplied by AD Aquatics

Discus

Symphysodon spp.

Often called the "king of the aquarium", discus need stable warm water (28–30°C) and low general hardness — most UK tap water requires RO treatment first.

Ancistrus sp.
