About This Setup

Big aquascaping ideas,
in a small footprint.

AD Aquatics is an aquarium installation and maintenance specialist founded by Adnan and Hasan, serving London and the Home Counties with UK-wide availability by arrangement. Our Nano Aquascape setup brings the same design discipline we apply to our larger planted and rock formation tanks into a compact 20–60 litre footprint — ideal for a desk, shelf, or a first serious aquascaping project.

Because the tank is small, every element has to earn its place: hardscape proportion, plant choice and stocking density all matter more than in a large aquarium. AD Aquatics designs each nano aquascape around a single clear layout style — Iwagumi rockwork, a driftwood jungle scape, or a moss-and-stone composition — rather than cramming in variety.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is included in the £550 Nano Aquascape setup?

£550 includes the nano tank and cabinet or stand, filtration, heating, lighting sized for planted growth, aquascaping substrate, hardscape, live plants, compatible fish, and professional installation with full nitrogen cycle management. See full pricing for how this compares to our other setups.

What size is a nano aquarium?

A nano aquarium is generally defined as 20-60 litres. AD Aquatics builds nano aquascapes across this range, most commonly 30-45 litres for a detailed tabletop or desk aquascape.

What fish suit a nano aquarium?

Small, peaceful species suit nano tanks best — chili rasboras, ember tetras, celestial pearl danios, dwarf shrimp (Neocaridina/Caridina) and nerite snails. We always keep stocking light relative to tank volume, since a nano tank has less margin for error than a large aquarium.

Is a nano tank harder to maintain than a larger aquarium?

Water parameters can shift faster in a smaller volume, so consistency matters more. Our maintenance plans (from £60/month) include the more frequent small water changes a nano tank benefits from.
